Larry D. Morris I, age 63, of Mt. Sterling, formally of Jeffersonville, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 11:45 p.m. at the home of his sister Betty and Jim Williams.

He was born on April 23, 1945 in Bloomingburg to James W. and Mahala Haynes Morris. He had been a truck driver for Advanced Auto Parts, was also a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran and was a member of the Christ Victory Church in Bloomingburg.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Iva (Bunch) Morris, one grandson and brother and sister-in-law James and Donna Morris. He is also preceded in death by two sisters and brother-in-law Virginia and John Short and Lucille Summers.

Survivors include his children John Allen Morris of Jeffersonville, James William Morris of Sabina, and Larry Morris II also of Jeffersonville. Ten grandchildren and brothers and sisters Robert (Carmen) Morris of Florida, Betty (Jim) Williams of Mt. Sterling, Donald (Pat) Morris, Mildred (Charles “Bud”) Hunt both of Washington C.H., Jack (Candy) of Florida and one brother-in-law Ed Summers of New Holland as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Pauline Hidy officiating with burial to follow in the Washington Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The family gives special thanks to Loving Care Home Health and Hospice of London, Ohio.
