Connie Jean Jones

CONNIE JEAN JONES, age 70, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 6:20 a.m. at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 13, 1946 in Fayette County to James and Naomi Kimmey Ellars. She retired from the Orient Correctional Institution and had worked as the warden’s assistant. Connie was a member of the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union. She enjoyed scrapbooking, genealogy, crocheting, gambling, and being with her family. She also had a true love for her animals.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Charles Cox, and James Ellars Jr.

Survivors include her children, Charlotte Mercer, Richard (Wendy) Jones, Nancy Hanlon, Megan Jones, and Jennifer Danforth; grandchildren, Nathan Pendergraft, Clayton Jones, Holden (Cassie) Jones, Craig Hanlon, Rose Hanlon, Olivia Lindsey, and Quinlan Danforth; great-grandchildren, Austyn Pendergraft, and Finley Jones; siblings, Sharon Downard, and Marie Saxour; great-niece, Khloe; and her special friends, Jim and Carolyn Penwell, Stephanie, and Gwen. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob Carroll officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. In keeping with Connie’s wishes, cremation will be observed.
