Deril V. Milks

DERIL V. MILKS, age 74, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 11:32 a.m. at Heartland Hospice of Springfield.

He was born on September 22, 1943 in Franklin County, to Howard and Gretchen Wolschleger Milks. He was a 1961 graduate of West High School in Columbus. Deril was baptized at the Church of the United Brethren in Christ in Columbus. He retired in 2006 after many years as an auto-mechanic. He enjoyed motorcycles, NASCAR, speedboat racing, and keeping up with The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Deril was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Phyllis Kay McCoy Milks, whom he married in September of 1963; and his brothers, David Lee Milks, and Dennis Ray Milks.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah (Chuck) Jones; grandchildren, Erik Lee Widner, Anastacia Marie (Jason) Landis, and Jamie (Jerame) Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Cowin, Ayden, and Lily Mitchell; sisters-in-law, Joyce Jones, and Eunice Wilt; and brother-in-law, Jimmy McCoy. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
