Grace Frost Obituary
GRACE H. FROST, age 98, of Washington CH, formerly of Bloomingburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 1:04 p.m. at Carriage Court Assisted Living.
She was born on October 12, 1918 in Omega, Ohio to John Robert and Anna Kathryn Voelker Humphrey. She had attended Eber Elementary and later was a 1935 graduate of Washington High School. She had been employed by Wilson Hardware, Craig Brothers Department Store and City Loan and Savings.
Grace originally attended the McNair Presbyterian Church where she had taught Sunday School and later became a member of the Bloomingburg United Methodist Church. She had taught the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. She was known locally as "the pecan lady". She belonged to the Town and Country Garden Club, Delta CCL (Child Conservation League), the Cecilian Music Club and also had served as a 4-H advisor for the "Blue Ribbon Champs". Grace enjoyed gardening, reading, and especially spending time with her family.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Edwin "Jack" Frost. They were married on February 4, 1950. When they were first married, they lived on a farm in Jeffersonville and in 1958, they moved to their farm on White Oak Road and in December, 2010, she became a resident of Carriage Court.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Louise Humphrey Lynch Roberts.
Survivors include her children, John Robert "Rob" (Lisa) Frost and Julia (James W. "Jim") Grim; grandchildren, Amy (Brett) Baughman, Jennifer and Katie Frost, Catherine (Matt) Ippisch, and Sara Grim and fiance, Jason New; nephews, Don Lynch, and Rev. Bill (Beth) Carpenter, niece, Ann Stephens as well as numerous great-nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bloomingburg United Methodist Church with Phil Webb and Grace's nephew, Rev. Bill Carpenter officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. At her request, there will be no viewing.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Bloomingburg United Methodist Church, 5 Cross St., Bloomingburg, OH 43106.
