HARRY KENNETH “KEN” HUFFER, age 77, of Washington CH, formerly of London, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 5:25 p.m. at Mount Carmel Medical Center.
He was born on August 23, 1939 in Pickaway County to Wilbert Avery and Lydia Ruth Self Huffer. Ken was a 1957 graduate of Madison Mills High School. He retired from Navistar International in Springfield, and had also farmed. He was a proud member of the Staunton United Methodist Church, the USTA, and the London Chapter Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed training and racing horses, farming, traveling, and being with his family and grandchildren.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Lucille “Luddy” Mason Huffer, whom he married on August 5, 1961; his son, Keith (Lisa) Huffer; grandchildren, Chelsea (Dustin) Caudill, and Lindsay Huffer; sisters, Rosalie Miller, and Lynne (Don) Callender; and also his loving canine companion, Gidget. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Webb officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In keeping with Ken’s wishes, cremation will follow.
