Walter David Aills, Sr., age 77, of
Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at
4:50 a.m. at his home. He had been in failing health for
the past eight months.
He was born on July 18, 1930 in
Fayette County to Earl and Laura Lightle Aills. He spent
all of his life in this area. He had been a self-employed
custom hay and straw dealer and had worked for the Murphy
Motor Freight Company for several years. He was a member
of the Trinity Full Gospel Church in Sabina, a former
member of the Fayette County Harness Horsemen
Association, a member of the Senior Citizens on Elm St.
and was a 1948 Washington High School
graduate.
Walter was preceded in death by his
parents, his wife Mary Riley Aills, brothers Milton,
Dwight and Dennis Aills and sisters Gwendolyn Hidy and
Janet Smith.
Survivors include his children Mary
Cline of Bainbridge, Walter David Aills Jr. of Washington
CH, Kathleen Merritt of Jeffersonville, Julianne
(Richard) Robinson and Paulette (Jerry) Justice both of
Washington CH; grandchildren Missy Roush, Thomas Cline,
Shawn Aills, Amber Blackwell, Travis Jones, Amie Leach,
Jarrod and Mara Justice; 12 great-grandchildren and 3
great-great-grandchildren; brother Norman (Carol) Aills
of Florida. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews,
cousins and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on
Friday, May 2, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral
Home with Pastor Carey Hilterbran officiating with burial
to follow in the Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at
the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
