BARBARA ANN WACKMAN, age 89, of Washington CH, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 1:02 p.m. at her home.
She was born on May 24, 1929 in Madison County to Ralph and Rebecca Cordell Jenkins. Barbara and her husband, James, owned and operated the former J&J Restaurant for thirty-five years. She had been a very active member at the Church of the Nazarene. Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed watching football and baseball, collecting Christmas villages, being a faithful servant of God, and being with her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Wackman, whom she married on July 3, 1959; daughter, Judy Cathel; and brother, Robert Jenkins.
Survivors include her children, June Hayes, Linda Henry, Debbie Wilson, and James Putney; grandchildren, Greg Leach, Tony Leach, Dwayne Leach, Brandy Mitchell, Amy (Matthew) Heinlein, Adam Henry, Carrie Bledsoe, Kelly (Tom) Walker, Sherry Cathel, Merle Cathel, and Robin Cathel; and sisters, Carol Aills, Shirley Ewald, and Janet Bussy. Also surviving are numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 990 St Rt 41 SW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Rev. Daniel McLean, Pastor Gary Aills, and Pastor Mark Aills officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Thursday evening from 4-7:00 p.m. and again on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
