BERYL SMITH, age 90, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington CH.
He was born on February 27, 1928 in Fayette County to Frank and Mary Robinette Smith. Beryl proudly served his county is the US Army as a Ranger Airborne during the Korean War. After returning from war, he worked until his retirement in 1988 in construction. Beryl purchased the first Harley Davidson sold in Fayette County in 1947. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball, fishing, hunting, motorcycles, and being with his family and grandchildren.
Beryl was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Anna Lee Emrick Smith, whom he married on December 9, 1950; and his siblings, Virgil Smith, and Juanita Smith.
Survivors include his children, Mike (Kathryn) Smith, Pam (Gary) Warner, and Rick (Connie) Smith; grandchildren, Kelsey Johnson, Travis Osborne, Tyler Osborne, Tracy (Doug) Morris, Tiffany Mick, Dylan Smith, and Chase Smith; great-grandchildren, Presley, Jett, Braden, Bryson, Casi, Laci, Spencer, Lucas, Kaylee, and Ellie; great-great grandchildren, Brink, Mason, Jordan, Embree, Easton, Kasen, and Alexis. Also surviving are several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
In keeping with Mr. Smith’s wishes, cremation will be observed and there will be no service.
