BILLY L. HAINES, age 91, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 6:27 a.m. at Court House Manor.
He was born on March 24, 1926 in Fayette County to Robert W. and Emma Drais Haines. Billy graduated from Fairfield High School in Leesburg. He had worked as a truck driver for most of his life. Billy was a member of the Elks Lodge #129. He enjoyed playing cards, telling stories, following sports, and being with his family, grandchildren, and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marian Wise Haines, whom he married on May 25, 1972; siblings, Mary Elizabeth (Hugh) Morris, David L. Haines, and Robert Haines; and great-grandson, Hayden Chance Ramsey.
Survivors include his children, Judy (Tom) Rambo, Melodi (Bugs) Ramsey, and Jim Haines; grandchildren, Chris (Leigh Cannon) Rambo, Lisa (Nathan) Robinette, and Scott (Beth) Ramsey; great-grandchildren, Morgan Rambo, Jazlyne, Javin, Trey, and Luke Robinette, and Mason Smith; step-children, James L. (Linda) Wise Jr., and Tanya (Craig) Helms; step-granddaughters, Sara (Matt) Hofmeier, and Katie (Joe) Hanrahan; and step-great-grandchildren, Greyson and Cadence Hofmeier, and Connor Hanrahan. Also surviving are several extended family members and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Webb of the Staunton United Methodist Church officiating with burial to follow at the Good Hope Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-8:00 p.m., with an Elks service to follow.
