Curtis Cruse

CURTIS CRUSE, age 78, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 4:52 a.m. at Mount Carmel West Hospital.

He was born on September 5, 1939 in Boone County, Kentucky to Robert and Carrie Barnett Cruse. Curtis retired in 2002 from Mead Container in Washington CH. He was a sports fanatic; some of his favorite teams included the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavs, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing euchre, going to breakfast club at McDonalds, and being with his family and grandchildren.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Blake Rife; and siblings, Benjamin Carpender, McKinley Cruse, James Cruse, Dorothy Cruse VanDyne, Francis Cruse, Kathryn Cruse, and Irene Cruse.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of thirty-four years, Florence Ludene Leasure Cruse, whom he married on November 22, 1999; his children, Carol Penwell, Rebecca Wilson and her special friend, Daryl Fouch, and Sherry (Earl) Frederick; step-son, Jason (Mistti) Osborn; grandchildren, Brad Wilson, Kirk (Holley) Wilson, Alicia Hawkins, Ashley (Arturo) Torres, Amanda Frederick, Dustin Frederick and his fiancé, Tiffany Moon, Duane Merricks and his special friend, Michaela Spaniol, Maddison Osborn, and Jaxon Osborn; great-grandchildren, Chaylee, Kenzie, Xander, Gage, Parris, Chrislin, Nathaniel, Andrew, Ashlynn, Kauner, Kinleigh, Bentley, and Oakley; and brothers, Clarence (Louise) Cruse, and Forest Cruse. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Lee officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
