David Eugene Borden

DAVID EUGENE BORDEN, age 78, of Washington CH, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Four Seasons of Washington.

He was born on August 15, 1939 in Highland County to Ray and Glenna Elizabeth Mullenix Borden. He was a 1957 graduate of New Vienna High School. David had worked at Bell’s Foundry in Hillsboro, Wilmington College, and most recently for Senior Services in Springfield, Missouri. He and his wife had attended the Mount Olive Church of Christ in New Vienna. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, studying the Bible, and was an all around sports fanatic.

David was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife and mother of his children, Shirley Arleen Blackmore Borden, whom he married in June of 1962.

Survivors include his children, Cameron Keith (Teresa) Borden, and Kyle Scott Borden, and grandchildren, Cammi Kay, Brendan Michael, Aaron Joseph, and Samuel David Borden.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Mike Skaggs officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family at Mount Olive Cemetery in New Vienna.
