DAVID “WAYNE” MCALLISTER, age 72, of Washington CH, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 12:20 a.m. at his home.
He was born on September 4, 1945 in Fayette County to the late Ernest “Brady” and Dorothy Vandyke McAllister. He was a 1963 graduate of Miami Trace High School and had also attended Ohio University in Chillicothe where he studied engineering. Wayne was currently employed at the Melvin Stone Company in Fayette County. He was a member at the Sugar Creek Baptist Church and the New Holland Lodge #392 of Free and Accepted Masons. Wayne was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed doing construction work, driving his semi-truck, and racing go-carts in his early years.
Survivors include his wife, Judith E. “Judy” Thompson McAllister, whom he married on October 5, 1984; children, Shelia (Ted) Moffat, and John Waugh; grandchildren, Zach (Natasha Conway) Wagner, Candi Waugh, and Ashley Waugh; great-grandchildren, Jerricka, Jasmine, Sydney, and Ryley; and siblings, Martha (Bill) Welsh, and Mike (Vickie) McAllister. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sugar Creek Baptist Church with Mike Henry officiating. Friends may visit at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. A Masonic Service will take place immediately following the funeral. Interment will take place at the Highlawn Cemetery at a later date at the convenience of the family.
