David Eugene Morris

DAVID EUGENE MORRIS, age 53, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 9:27 a.m. at his home.

He was born on August 20, 1965 in Greenfield, Ohio to Eugene “Gene” and Lula Leisure Morris-Rhoades. He was a 1985 graduate of Miami Trace High School. David had been employed as a truck driver at Robert Blair Trucking, LLC in Washington CH. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, John Deere tractors, and watching Ohio State Football.

David was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Kenneth Rhoades; paternal grandparents, Gid and Inez Morris; and maternal grandparents, Ora and Maddell Leisure.

Survivors include his mother; his wife, Gloria Lynn Pauley Morris, whom he married on May 6, 2012; children, Jesse (Eric Rowe) Morris, Nicole (Robbie Mader) Morris, Cynthia (Jonah Jr.) McCoy, and Nicolas Price; grandchildren, Jaxon Rowe, Craig Mader, Alex Mader, and Luna McCoy; and siblings, Teresa (Philip Huffman) Webb, Bill (Barbara Branham) Morris, and Matt (Tammy Mongold) Morris. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Barth officiating with burial to follow at the Good Hope Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
