DOROTHY EULENE WHEATON, age 86, of Bloomingburg, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 3:00 a.m. at her home.
She was born on August 9, 1931 in Greenup County, Kentucky to Elmer and Cora Sagraves Gillum. She was employed at The Glove Factory in Mount Sterling for several years and then became a Sales Associate for Avon, and received the Diamond Award for being a top seller. Dorothy was an active member at the Gregg St. Worship Center in Washington CH and helped manage the food pantry. She enjoyed talking on the phone, watching TV, puzzle books, shopping, and collecting angels.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Danny Campbell; husbands, Clark Campbell, and Burt Ison; siblings, Ray (Betty) Hanners, Margaret (Archie) Shaw, Delly Hanners, Roger Glispie, and Jeannie Glispie; half-sister, Mary Lou Glispie Lake; grandsons, Billy Johnson, and Jimmy Johnson; and step-daughter, Betty Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Fredrick Terry “Fred” Wheaton, whom she married on October 31, 1998; step-children, Fredrick Wheaton Jr., Terry (Amy) Wheaton, Mark Wheaton, William “Bill” (Michelle) Wheaton, and Jesse Wheaton; grandchildren, Bobby (Donna) Johnson, Kay (Dave) Tackett, Ruth (Ron) Jenkins, and Jack (Koneta) Johnson; siblings, Alva (Ina Edwards) Hanners, Russell (Robert Judd) Hanners, Robert Glispie, and Joyce Glispie; and special friends, Robert (Balinda) Daugherty, and Martha Lewis. Also surviving are several other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Suzanne Beekman officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
