Edna Marie McClaskie

EDNA MARIE MCCLASKIE, age 86, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 1:46 p.m. at her home.

She was born on March 22, 1931 in Fayette County to John Otto and Gertrude Grove Hines. Edna worked as a stay at home mother to take care of her three daughters. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Edna had been a member at the First Prebyterian Church in Sedalia. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, sewing, and crafting.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard McClaskie; the father of her children, Dean Barton; her son, Michael Barton; siblings, Leo (Rosie) Hines, and Clifford (Phyllis) Hines; and her beloved canine companion, Emily.

Survivors include her children, Carol (Robert) Langley, Pam (Roger) McCoy, and Patty (David) Kelley; grandchildren, Jason (Brittany Pfeifer) Langley, Christy (Greg) Gustin, Jennifer (Kevin) McBee, Bethany (David) Batson, Bryan (Amanda) McCoy, Ty (Cheri) Kelley, Travis (Hallie) Kelley, Jarrod Barton, Michelle Kovach, and Jamie Barton; thirty great-grandchildren; and her devoted canine companion, Sadie. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Mell Wickensimer officiating with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
