Jennie Lee Smith

JENNIE LEE SMITH, age 82, of Washington CH, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:20 a.m. at The OSU Wexner Medical Center.

She was born on October 2, 1934 in Fayette County to William J. and Edna M. Johnson Irions Engle. She was a 1952 graduate of Washington High School. Jennie retired after many years of service from Calmar in Washington CH. She was also a member of the Heritage Memorial Church. She enjoyed sewing, attending church, raising various farm animals, playing Bingo and Left, Right, Center with her friends at Court House Manor.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Thomas “Tom” Lee Smith; and her sister, Jean Marie Workman.

Survivors include her children, Vicki (Bobby) Southward, Johnnie (Cindy) Binegar, Eddie (Amanda) Binegar, Alan “Butch” Binegar, Lorie Smedley and her significant other, Rob Breakall, and Gerald (Carol) Lee. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Johnnie Binegar officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. In keeping with Mrs. Smith’s wishes, cremation will take place after the service. A private graveside service will be held at Highlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
