Obituary

ALAN SCOTT YERIAN, age 63, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 10:07 p.m. at the OSU Wexner James Cancer Center. He was born on February 8, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Ralph I. and Elizabeth E. "Libby" Godfrey Yerian. He proudly served his country in the US Marines as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam Era. He was a graduate of DeVry with a Master's Degree in computer engineering. He had worked at New Sabina Industries as a computer engineer. He was a member of the South Side Church of Christ where he had been actively involved on the Praise Team. He enjoyed all types of stringed instruments, playing in various bands, reading, spending time with his family and was known as a very charitable person. Alan is survived by his children Alan Scott Yerian II of Powell, Brandi Yerian Smoot and her husband Homer Smoot of Williamsport and Trevor (Kelly) Yerian of Hillsboro; grandchildren Hunter Rowland, Craig and Joseph Smoot and Ariana Yerian; brother Dr. Stephen (Sue) Yerian as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The family wanted to extend a special "thanks" to Peggy and Misty Rucker. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the South Side Church of Christ, 921 S. Fayette St. in Washington CH, with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Good Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
