Obituary

AMY JOANN LEBEAU, age 44, of Bloomingburg, went home to be with Jesus, whom she loved dearly, on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11:48 a.m.

In 1992, Amy graduated from Miami Trace High School after being very involved in all of the school functions. Her outgoing school spirit was rewarded by being elected Homecoming Queen in 1991. After graduating high school, she attended Sinclair Community College from 1993-1996, where she studied Computer Animation and Graphics, until she discovered her love for country music. The rest is history.

Her love of country music included, "touring," as one of her favorite activities. Amy made many friends as she "chased" tour buses! She also tremendously enjoyed her time spent backstage at the Grand Ole Opry. Memories from these special times helped to carry Amy through the more challenging parts of her life.

Her caring and optimistic personality rewarded Amy with a bevy of friends. She was an outstanding inspiration to all those who knew her. Her beautiful essence of empathy and concern for others will leave a long-lasting legacy. Although she suffered with spinal muscular atrophy all of her life, she did more quality living that many able-bodied people. She will be greatly missed.

Amy is survived by her parents, Roger L. and Linda S. Sowers LeBeau; brother and sister-in-law, Skeet and Kellie LeBeau; and her niece, Avery JoAnn LeBeau, whom Amy named as her pride and joy. She also gave her the nickname, "Love bug," which lovingly described her devotion to Avery.

Also surviving is her niece, Alissa Bonecutter; nephew, Andrew Bonecutter, and their respective families, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Amy was very much adored by her special friend, Josh Conrad.

Preceding Amy in death were her grandparents, Freddie and Betsy LeBeau; grandmother, Jean Rinehart; cousin, Holly Sowers; great-grandparents, Paul and Elsie Spencer; and many others whom Amy called "family". Amy's beloved seventeen year-old Jack Russell Terrier, Maizy, notably passed away one day before Amy.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at The Grace Community Church with Pastor Christopher Henderson Johns officiating with burial to follow at the Madison Mills Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the Summers Funeral Home on Monday evening from 4-8 p.m. and again at the church on Tuesday afternoon from 1-2:30 p.m.
