ANNA MARGARET HOLTON SHAW, age 77, formerly of Washington CH, peacefully entered her resting place at 10:10 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Clary Grove Nursing and Rehab Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia where she had been a patient since December 15, 2015 with family at her bedside.
She was born on March 17, 1938 in Greenup County, Kentucky to William and Cora Sagraves Hanners. She was a member of the House of Prayer where she had held various positions in the church including Sunday School teacher, treasurer, and secretary. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing board games, luncheons with her friends, attending her grandchildren's events and especially spending time with her family
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Ivan Holton, whom she married on March 19, 1955, second husband Archie P. Shaw, whom she married on November 6, 1987, siblings Mary Lou Lake, Dellie Hanners, Jeannie Glispie and Roger Glispie and her son-in-law, Bill Blair.
Survivors include her children Debi Blair and fiancé Greg Dotson of Martinsburg, WV, David Holton and fiance Tonya Wotring Arnall of London, James "Doug" (SuYon) Holton of Laurel, MD and step-sons Billy (Janet) Shaw and Roger Shaw all of Washington CH; grandchildren Chad (Lauren) Blair, Brian (Lacy) Blair, Courtney (Trent) Woods, James I. Holton, Jonathan K. Holton and fiancé Sally Chen and Brittany Holton; siblings Dorothy (Fred) Wheaton, Joyce Glispie, Ray (Betty) Hanners, Alva Hanners, Russ Hanners and Bob Glispie as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at the Washington Ave. House of Prayer with Pastor Tom Butcher officiating with burial to follow at the Pleasant Cemetery Mt. Sterling. Friends may call at the Summers Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
