BARBARA J. "GINNY" SUMMERS, age 84, The Lord gained another angel on Sunday, May 1, 2016. She had been a resident of St. Catherine's Manor for the past 16 months but had resided in the Frankfort area for the majority of her life. She was born on October 27, 1931 in New Holland, Ohio to the late Floyd and Martha Lykins Summers. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sister-in-laws, Robert and Eloise, Dwight and Edna, David, and John B. Summers. She was also preceded in death by her beloved canine companion of 17 years, "Corky". Survivors include her sister-in-law, Dorothy Summers, her beloved friend and caretaker, and nephews Fred (Rita), Charles (Karen), Roger (Karen), Gary (Trudy), David (Karen), Terry (Terri), Dan (Barb) and John Eric Summers. Also her nephew Joe (Cindy) Storts and niece DeAnn Zalom-Novak; her good friends from St. Catherine's, Carole and Bill Hart, and good friends from Tanglewood Apartments, Judy and Janet. Barbara loved the activities at St. Catherine's Manor, especially playing Bingo. She loved flowers, good food, the Ross County Fair and music. As she passed, the Sunday church service at the Manor was singing "Victory in Jesus". This song was so appropriate for her. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery of Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
