BEATRICE 'BEA' HILL HYER, age 86, of Washington CH, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 11:20 a.m. at her daughter and son-in-law's home where she had resided since November, 2006. She was born on December 7, 1929 in Meigs County to John L. "Pappy" and Janie Deem "Granny" Hill. She was a 1947 graduate of Adena High School of Frankfort, she sold real estate prior to becoming a nurse. She worked at Case Convalescent Center from 1983 to 1995. She enjoyed her family, reading, hand sewing and making puff quilts for each of her great-grandchildren and many friends. Bea was a member of the South Side Church of Christ where she helped with the food ministry and was involved in various small groups, and had also been a volunteer at the Red Cross. Bea was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence R. Hyer, great-grandson Jhett Lee Hyer and brothers C. Kenneth, Robert L. and Harry E. Hill. Survivors include her children Charlotte (Jim) Riley, Dallas Hyer, Douglas Hyer, Brenda (Lee) Hopkins, Barbara (Ross) Emrick, and Nancy (Todd) Collins; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Louise Hill and Mary Ellen Hill and special family friend, Marva Fleak. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the South Side Church of Christ with Ray Vance officiating with burial to follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery of Frankfort. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Summers Funeral Home.
