BENNIE CHARLES SELF, JR., age 74, of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at his home while surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 3, 1951 in Tilden, Nebraska to the late Bennie Charles Self, Sr., and Joy (Cuffe) Self Elliott. He was a 1969 graduate of Washington High School. Bennie retired after twenty years of service from the City of Washington Waste Management Plant. He was the lead singer and bass guitarist in his band, Midnight. He enjoyed music, sitting on his porch, spending time with his family and grandchildren, and was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan.

In addition to his parents, Bennie was preceded in death by his sister, Colleen Huffman.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Sue (Coe) Self, whom he married on July 19, 1975; his children, Jamie Self, and Melissa (Ben) Havens; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Self, Hunter Havens, and River Havens; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Mary Coe, Linda Mellott, and Rusty and Chris Coe; and his forever faithful canine companions, Jake and Ollie. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Ben Havens officiating with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-7:00 p.m.
