BETTY ANN ROSS ANKROM, age 81, of Rockbridge, formerly of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at her daughter, Cheri's home. She was born on August 6, 1933 in Chillicothe to William and Ruth Grubb Ross. She was a graduate of McClain High School. Betty's life was dedicated to and centered around her family. She was a fabulous cook and seamstress. Her favorite pastime was reading a good book. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bobbie Lee Ankrom. Survivors include her children Cheri (Bill) Matson and Linda (Mike) Latham; grandchildren Kyle (Julia) Matson, Brandon (Anna) Matson, Travis Latham and Michelle Latham; great-grandchildren Korbin, Kayla, Kylie, Kaden, Donovan and Carley Matson; sister Joyce Wickenseimer and brother William (Roberta) Ross; nieces and nephews, Vicki Crawford, Lisa McConkey, Brad Wickenseimer, Dustin and Kent Ross as well as several cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Chaplin Linda Ward and Pastor Tom Underwood officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery.
