BETTY JANE (BABER) CHRISTMAN, age 98, of Washington CH, formerly of Kettering, Ohio, passed away from this life on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 2:42 p.m. at Court House Manor Assisted Living.

She was born on July 5, 1923 in Shady Grove, near South Solon, Ohio to Roy and Lena (Thompson) Baber. She was a 1941 graduate of Jeffersonville High School and a 1942 graduate of Miami Jacobs Business College. Betty was employed by the federal government where she worked as a personnel staffing specialist for 32 years. After retirement, Betty volunteered for several years at the reception desk at Kettering Medical Center. She was a member of Far Hills Baptist Church while living in Kettering and attended the Jeffersonville United Methodist Church when she lived in Fayette County. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She enjoyed taking walks, reading her Bible, spending time with her family and she also had a special place in her heart for dogs.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry E. "Bud" Christman; her beloved sons, Daniel L. Christman, and S. Trent Christman; siblings, Bill (Lois) Baber, Bob (Sancy) Baber, and Mary (Ray) Stuckey; and niece, Bonnie Baber Barber.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Fon Christman; granddaughter, Damisa (Robbie II) Christman Heard; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Aniyah Heard; nephews, Jack (Vickie) Baber, and Archie Barber; nieces, Julie (William) Stuckey Koppert, Cinda Stuckey Borden, Lynnette (Mark) Stuckey Kline, Pamela (Terry) Baber Feick, and Rhonda (John) Baber Metzner; and special friends, Ann Thompson and Bon Namsen, both of Kettering. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews and the wonderful staff and residents of Court House Manor Assisted Living.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. William S. Koppert officiating with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
