BETTY JANE "BJ" MARTINDALE, age 87, of Washington CH, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at her son's home.
She was born on September 9, 1930 in Fayette County to Herbert and Arthella Lower Hurley. Betty retired from Calmar and then worked as a greeter at Walmart for over sixteen years. She had attended the Anchor Baptist Church. Betty was a member of the Night Owl's CB Club, The National Belles, and the Fayette County Harness Horsemen's Association. She enjoyed helping her husband train horses, shopping, mowing, and gardening.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Darrell Beekman, and her husband, Clyde Martindale Jr., whom she married on September 4, 1948.
Survivors include her children, Randy (Sheri) Martindale, Ricki (Marlene) Martindale, and Tony (Tammy) Martindale; grandchildren, Angela (Craig) Sippola, Bryan Martindale, Randall (Paula) Martindale, Clarissa (Kenny) Hess, Rick "JR" (Karen) Martindale Jr., Zachary Martindale, and JoAnna Martindale; great-grandchildren, Ira, Marti, and Aly Graham, Brittany Martindale, Jarrett, Tucker, and Chase Sippola; step-grandchildren, Bubby Hunt, Amanda, Shawn, Samantha, and Amy; and great-great granddaughter, Ariel Graham. Also surviving are several cousins and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anchor Baptist Church with Pastor Jeremy D. Griffith officiating. Friends may visit at the church on Monday afternoon from 2:30-7:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
