(Knisley) Hux
October 14, 1929 – November 16, 2023
BETTY JEAN (KNISLEY) HUX, age 94, slipped into the arms of Jesus early Thursday morning November 16, 2023, from Traditions National Church Residence in Chillicothe. Betty was born on October 14, 1929, in Fayette County, one of twelve children of Clement and Ethel (Beekman) Knisley. In 1948 she was united in marriage to Earl L. Hux who preceded her in death in 1995 after 47 devoted years together.
Betty was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings Hanah Stocker, Mildren McKeever, Gladys McKeever, Kathryn Joslin, Anna Rader, Donna Sanders, Mary Alice Knisley, James Knisley and two infant siblings. Still surviving is one brother, Edward Knisley of Washington CH, Ohio, along with several nieces and nephews.
Survivors also include her son, Dr./Rev. Earl Ralph Hux and his wife Becky (Norman) Hux, granddaughter Drs. Danielle (Stefan) Price and great grandchildren, Isaiah, and Huxlee Price.
Betty was a farmer's wife and a school bus driver for Madison-Plains School District completing 31 years of service in 2001. After receiving Jesus as her savior, she became a life-long member of the Newport Church of Christ in Christian Union. A gifted alto, she began singing with the Archer Trio (Betty [Archer] Bush and Sylvia [Archer] Isaacs) shortly after her conversion. She loved to sing and was faithfully devoted to her family and church.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at the Newport Church of Christ in Christian Union, 6800 St Rt 38, London, Ohio 43140 with Dr. Jack Norman and Rev. Charles Elliott officiating. Family and friends may visit at the Church on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held at the Range Township Cemetery.
