BETTY J. MICK, age 88, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Court House Manor.

She was born on May 18, 1935 in Fairfield County, Ohio to the late Eldon and Flora (Smith) Newland. Betty attended school in Rainsboro, Ohio. She had worked as assistant manager at Ace Hardware in Washington CH for several years. She enjoyed cleaning, reading, traveling when her health would allow, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Gary Ray Mick; and brother, Charles Newland.

Survivors include her children, Steven (Naomi) Mick, David (Kathy) Mick, Janice "Jan" Mick, Pam Mick, and Charles "Chuck" (Nikki) Mick; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; her brothers, George Newland, and Edwin (Linda) Newland; and special friend and neighbor, Greta Blake. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the South Salem Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
