BETTY LOUISE OESTERLE, age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 05, 2022 at her home with her loving daughters by her side.
She was born on June 6, 1930 in Fayette County to the late Clyde and Nellie (Penrod) Irons Kimmey. She was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School. Betty worked as a cashier at Seaway and retired from Helfrich Supermarket. She was a member at the First Christian Church and had been attending Heritage Church. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, making large meals for her family, baking and decorating cakes for different occasions, and visiting the Amish Country in Holmes County.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Ray Oesterle, Jr., whom she married on May 26, 1951; her son, Joe Oesterle; grandson, Chad Hodson; siblings, Ralph (Jeanne) Irons, Clyde Irons, Jr., Jim Irons, and Martha (Dana, Jr.) Kellenberger; brothers-in-law, Maynard (JoAnne) Oesterle, Robert (Norma Jean) Oesterle, and Theodore (JoAnne) Oesterle; and sisters-in-law, Eileen (Glen) Tatman, Marceline (Clarence) Wallace, and Jean (Roger) Skinner.
Survivors include her children, Ron (Kathie) Oesterle, Brenda (Keith) Berner, Dan (Kim) Oesterle, and Cindy (Ike) Hodson; grandchildren, Dawn Page, Krista (Logan) Buckley, Brad (Britt) Berner, Stephanie (Danny) Stewart, Stacie (John) Rolfe, Todd (Erin) Oesterle, Shawn (Amanda) Oesterle, Holly (Jon) Burgess, Jana Hodson, and Ryan (Ashley) Comar; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; brothers-in-law, Richard (Helen) Oesterle, Leslie (Susan) Oesterle, and David (Karen) Oesterle; and sisters-in-law, Jerry Durflinger, Judy Gordan, and Diane Irons. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ohio's Hospice of Fayette County; especially to Maria Free and Chaplain Jeff Davis for their kindness and loving care they provided during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Ohio's Hospice of Fayette County, 222 N. Oakland Ave., Washington CH, OH 43160.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Ike Hodson officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
