BILLIE DEAN WELSH, age 85, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Adena Fayette Medical Center.

He was born on August 4, 1937 in Fayette County to the late Frank and Mary (Haynes) Welsh. He was a 1955 graduate of Bloomingburg High School. Billie retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) in 1998. He and his wife attended the Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Billie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed standard bred harness racing and following the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

In addition to his parents, Billie was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric B. Welsh; great-granddaughter, Laralyn E. LeBeau; and sister, Judy Ward.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Ann (McAllister) Welsh, whom he married on March 1, 1955; his children, Randy D. (Kim) Welsh, and Tami J. (Joe) Dawson; grandchildren, Amy (Tony) LeBeau, Shelley (Josh) Denney, AJ (Rachelle) Dawson, and Amy Beadle; granddaughter-in-law, Franci Welsh; great-grandchildren, Riston, Jasen, Carter, Gabe, Abby, Claire, Luke, and Eli; and siblings, Sue (Tom) Walker, and Jane (Mike) Henry. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
