BLANCHARD "SONNY" E. HICKS, age 76, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 1:05 p.m. at his home. He was born in Fayette County on August 29, 1938 to Charles and Vesper Rosell Hicks. He had worked at Sherwood RV in Hillsboro and also Ron Farmer's Auto Sales. He proudly served in the US Army and the Ohio National Guard. He was a member of the South Side Church of Christ and also a member of the Tired Iron Tractor Club. He enjoyed car racing, building dwarf cars, and loved being with his family. He was also a member of the Liars Club at Ranchers. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Rhoddy Hicks. Survivors include his wife, Janet Welch Hicks whom he married on September 2, 1961, his children Roger Hicks, Robin (Kirk) Claypool, and Ryan Hicks; grandchildren Jonathan, Jerrod, Corey, Cody, Trevor, Kerissa, Mallory, and Noah; two siblings, Charlene (Earl) Monroe and Joe (Doreen) Hicks. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery.
