BOBBY J. GENTRY, age 72, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 10:10 p.m. at Four Seasons of Washington where he had been a resident since October of 2021.

He was born on August 19, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to Thurman J. and Helen L. (Kelly) Gentry. Bobby had worked for the Fayette County Highway Department and also for the City of Washington Street Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles, and lawnmowers. Bobby was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was as avid deer, coon, and pheasant hunter.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Esther Rose Knisley, and Diana (Russell) Jones; and his two faithful canine companions, Jack and Snickers.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Sue (Green) Gentry, whom he married on September 24, 1979; children, Bobby J. II (Lori) Gentry of Washington CH, and Kristie (Glenn) Crawford of Sabina; step daughter, Dusti (Matt) Black of Washington CH; grandchildren, Tori (Andrew) Hayes, Ashley Crawford and her fiancé, Kevin Cunningham, Makayla Gentry and her fiancé, Ian Foster, Logan Rodgers, Jackson Black, Jamison Black, Baylee Crawford, and Griffin Crawford; great-grandson, Lake Robert Avery Foster; siblings, Joe (Judy) Gentry of Staunton, and Connie Webb of Jeffersonville; and special friend, Natalie Crossley. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
