BRENDA SUE FORD, age 72, of Washington CH, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at her home. Her death was sudden and unexpected.

She was born on November 17, 1949 in Franklin County to Rev. Clarence Ervin and Annabelle (Coffman) Schirm. She was a 1969 graduate of Springfield South High School. Brenda had worked as a school cook at Cherry Hill Elementary for 14 years. She was a faithful and dedicated servant at Heritage Memorial Church. Brenda and her late husband, Mike were heavily involved in the Youth and Bus Ministries at the former Gregg Street Church of Christ in Christian Union, now Heritage Church. She enjoyed collecting all things related to strawberries, reading, puzzling, sewing, and spending precious time with her family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Clarence E. Schirm and her beloved husband, David Michael "Mike" Ford, Sr., whom she married on December 5, 1969.

Survivors include her mother, Annabelle Schirm; her children, David Michael Jr. (Gigi) Ford, Silas Wesley (Anita) Ford, and Rachel Sue Hicks; grandchildren, Ryan David (Kelsy) Ford, Jordan Michael (Charmion) Ford, Bradyn Neil Ford and his fiancé, Ravon, Morgan Lynne Ford, Chandler (Kristen) Ford, Sidney Bree (Jennifer) Ford, and Hayden Alan Hicks; great-grandchildren, Ava, Emma, Kellan, Chloe, Ares, Brilynne, Carter, Avery, Azai, Heath, Cataleya, and Evelyn; and siblings, Rex (Loretta) Schirm, Jeff (Pam) Schirm, Melissa (Steve) Brown, and Daniel (Kathy) Schirm. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Truex officiating with burial to follow at the South Solon Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
