CARL D. GARDNER, age 87, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 5:10 a.m. at the Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on April 19, 1927 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to William and Ella Jones Gardner. He proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corp. He retired from Mead Container after 30 years of service. He was part of the crew that built the flood wall in Point Pleasant. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and having coffee with all of his buddies at various restaurants. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, and eleven brothers and sisters. Survivors include his daughter Janie Powell and son Dwight (Debra) Gardner; grandchildren Garrick Gardner, Alisha Gardner and Adam and Jared Powell; great-grandson Brayden Gardner; sister Edith Gardner as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery.
