IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn Ann
Mercer-Bishop
August 4, 1940 – January 13, 2026
CAROLYN ANN MERCER-BISHOP, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at the Franciscan Care Center in Toledo, Ohio.
She was born on August 4, 1940 in Greene County, Ohio.
Carolyn was the beloved daughter of Daniel P. Ford and Mary Alice (Harness) Ford, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Kenneth D. Mercer (married 39 years) and Robert Eugene Bishop (married 9 years).
Carolyn was a 1958 graduate of Madison Mills High School, she lived a life rooted in faith, family, and music. Her deep devotion to Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior guided every aspect of her life. Her greatest desire was to remain faithful to Him and to be faithful in His service.
Carolyn's love for music was a defining part of who she was. She had a gift for singing and played several instruments with grace and joy-including the piano, organ, and accordion. Whether at home or in places of worship, her music brought comfort and inspiration to those around her.
She also found joy in crocheting and spent many hours creating beautiful pieces with love and care. A dedicated student of the Bible, Carolyn cherished time spent reading scripture and deepening her understanding of God's word.
Carolyn leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward her legacy of faith and warmth: her sister, Charlotte Smith; son, Rodney Mercer and his wife, Marti; daughter, Dana McKinney and her husband, Lee; grandchildren; Ashley (Ryan) Maxwell, Joshua (Merideth) McKinney, Seth (Abbi) McKinney, Holland (Stephen) Sutton, and Noah (Alexa) McKinney; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Maxwell, Camden Mercer, Aubrey Maxwell, Christopher Sutton, Declan Maxwell, Mia McKinney, Lorenzo McKinney, Amelia McKinney, Nyeli McKinney; and one
great-grandchild on the way, Odeha McKinney.
Carolyn's life touched many through her unwavering faith, musical talents, and quiet acts of love. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and serve as a lasting testament to a life well lived in devotion to God.
