CAROLYN LEE SMITH, age 90, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 1:05 a.m. at Signature Healthcare of Fayette County.

She was born on June 20, 1930 in Clinton County to Lyle and Martha (Howard) Smith. She was a 1948 graduate of McClain High School. Carolyn retired from the US Shoe Factory in Greenfield. She was a long-time member at the South Side Church of Christ; she also volunteered her time at the Paint Creek State Park with her late husband, Jack. Carolyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed boating, camping, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack C. Smith, whom she married on October 9, 1950; infant great-grandson, Blake McMahon; and siblings, Virginia Miller, Charles Smith, and Bob Smith.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Lenora Smith; grandchildren, Carey Smith, and Devin (Erin) Smith; great-grandchildren, Kylie Smith, Ethan Smith, Lyndon Ellis Jay Smith, and Kellan Smith; nieces, Betty Jean (Kenny) Bond, and Susan McCaffrey; nephew, Raymond "Dutch" (Cecily) Purdin; cousins, Teresa Combs, Dianna (Mike) Kelly, and DiDi Dreher; sister-in-law, Janet Boyer; and special friends, Joyce Miller, Sharon Thompson, Mike (Meg) Cruea, Lora Jean Slaven, and Larry (Vickie) McGuire.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Maurer officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be held at the Highlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
