CECIL J. SMALLEY, age 86, of Jeffersonville, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 1:50 p.m. at the Four Seasons of Washington.

He was born on August 16, 1930 in Madison County to Clarence and Ethel Little Smalley. He loved his canine companions, Skippy and King, enjoyed farming and most of all, spending time with his family.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Cecil David Smalley, and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Hoops Smalley, whom he married on June 15, 1959; his children, Ethel (Brad) Hickenbottom, Ruth (Art) Johnson, Jean Ann (Randy) Madden, and Doug Smalley; daughter-in-law, Melinda Smalley; six grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Christine Woods and Virginia Smalley; sister-in-law, Sheila Smalley.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Michael Cole officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 until the time of the service. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family at the Fairview Cemetery.
