CHAD ALLEN MERRITT, age 29, of Logan, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 1:32 p.m. at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

He was born on March 7, 1989 in Fayette County to Benjamin Merritt and Cheryl Seymour Merritt. Chad began his painting career with Greene's Painting in Greenfield and was currently employed at Masters Professional Painting Incorporated in Canal Winchester. He enjoyed fishing, working, spending time with his daughter, and being with his family and friends.

Chad was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carl and Gladys Merritt; and his maternal grandfather, Larry Seymour.

Survivors include his parents; fiancé, Tracy Phillips; daughter, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Merritt; siblings, Jamie Merritt and her fiancé, Justin Stevens, and Ashley Dean and her fiancé, Teddy Higginbotham; nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Jason, Macey, Hailey, Jacob, Kayden, and Braylon; and grandmother, Sandra Seymour. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.

The viewing will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 2-4:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Summers Funeral Home to cover funeral expenses.
