CHARLES D. ADKINS, age 69, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 6:43 a.m. at the Mt. Carmel Medical Center. He was born on June 12, 1944 in Washington CH to Ranzie and Rosa Jones Adkins. He had worked at Anders Greenhouse. He enjoyed music and had been a member of the Kenny Yahn Country Knights Band. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and going to the Lucky You. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Paul and Gaylen Adkins and Junior Wilson, sisters Margie Jones and Bonnie Williams and his life partner, Dora Lowe. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home.
