Obituary

CHARLES A. BARTON, age 83, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 11:38 p.m. at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 22, 1932 in Fayette County to Frank and Ada Barton. He retired from Colonial Staircase as a carpenter. He was a member of the Waterloo Church of Christ in Christian Union where he was saved and was presently attending the Heritage Memorial Church. He volunteered at "The Well". He loved spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren and also loved fishing. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren Lindsey Jacobson and Jamie Stiffler and12 brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Linda Bernard Barton; his children Cathy Stiffler, Charles Barton Jr., Mike Wheeler and Malissa Hagler; grandchildren Roberta Christenberry and special friend Chad Carr, Susan (Scott) Coon, Chrissy Jo (Jimmy) Furnace, Peggy (David) Payton, Richie (Alicia) Stiffler, Cole and Slade Hagler; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild as well as a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church with Pastor Bruce Morrison and Joy Stanforth officiating. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Cremation will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of the Summers Funeral Home.
