CHARLES WILLIAM "BILL" WARE, age 94, of Washington CH, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 4:04 a.m.
He was born on December 22, 1926 in Pike County to Purl and Katie (Hays) Ware. He attended Waverly City Schools in Waverly, Ohio. At the age of 18, Bill joined the U.S. Coast Guard, and was also a U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II. Bill began preaching at Bond's Chapel CCCU in Waverly in 1953 then continued his calling at Gregg Street CCCU in Washington CH in 1954, and London CCCU in 1959. He owned and operated Ware Construction for many years; building homes, commercial buildings, and many churches all over the state, including Heritage Memorial Church. In his free time, Bill worked as an insurance adjustor for United Ohio and Ohio Mutual Insurance Company. Something incredibly special to Bill's heart happened in 1958, when he drove a supply truck to Honduras for Don Hawk, and was able to work on the mission field. He enjoyed helping others, fishing, hunting, boating, and being with his family.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Anna Pfeifer, Dorothy Walters, Katherine Duncan, and Bob Ware; and great-grandchildren, Kehte E. Little and Gage A. Wright.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Natalie Kathleen (Allen) Ware, whom he married on November 20, 1970; his children, Sharma Ewing, Karen Sue Binegar, Mary Ann (Bob) Coe, Dawn (Randy) Jamison, and Curtis (Charisse) Ware; grandchildren, Jeff (Tina) Runnels, Jill (Eric) Green, Montana (Jen) Coe, Douglas (Jenny) Coe, Jennifer (Jay) Huseby, Bill (Misty) Bishop, Beau Binegar, Kayli (Jesse) Jacobsen, Jillian (Bryan) Gum, Joshua Jamison, and Eric (Michelle) Ochoa; seventeen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Nancy (Bob) Crouse. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at The Gathering Place Church, 240 Courthouse Parkway, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor John Pfeifer officiating with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
