June 23, 1941 – December 8, 2020
CHARLES LEROY "CHARLIE" ZINN, age 79, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Grant Medical Center.
He was born on June 23, 1941 in Jackson County, Ohio to Clifford Scott and Emma Gertrude (Bierhup) Zinn. He was a graduate of McArthur High School in McArthur, Ohio. He later attended welding school in Nashville, Tennessee. Charlie retired from Armco Steel where he worked as a machine operator and then in maintenance. After retirement, he worked part-time for NAPA Auto Parts in Washington CH. Charlie was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the Washington CH Masonic Lodge. Charlie was someone who never knew a stranger. He enjoyed tinkering, being a handyman, attending his grandchildren's events, and he was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Zinn; and sister-in-law, Paula (Bill) Erwin.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Pattiann Williams Zinn, whom he married on September 30, 1962; children, Kellie (Skeet) LeBeau, Kim (Joe) Mitchem, and Chuck Zinn; grandchildren, Alissa Bonecutter, Andrew (Kali) Bonecutter, Avery LeBeau, Derek Mitchem, and Mallory Mitchem; great-grandchildren, Cayden, Lizzy, Emmy, and Elaina; and sister-in-law, Sue Zinn. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of special and dear friends.
The graveside service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Mell Wickensimer officiating. A Masonic Service will be held prior to the committal. Family and friends may visit at the Summers Funeral Home on Monday morning from 10-11:00 a.m.
Facial masks are required, and social distancing will be practiced.
