CHARLES "CHUCK" NEWTON, age 70, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:45 a.m. at the Mt. Carmel Medical Center. He was born on March 21, 1944 in Washington CH to Ivan and Natalie Breece Newton. He had retired as custodian from the Washington High School after 15 years of service. He had been attending the Gathering Place. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and baking. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Lois Barnhart Newton, whom he married on August 15, 1993; his children Donnie Barnhart, Randy (Tracy) Barnhart, Lisa Newton, Charles Alan (Nichole) Newton, Lori (Don) Massie, Steve Newton and Kevin Newton; 20 grandchildren and special grandchild that he helped to raise, Gabrielal; one great-grandchild; siblings Sandra McKinney and Bill Newton as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He is also survived by his beloved feline, Precious. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with John Pfeifer officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery.
