CHARLES O. VARNEY, age 76, of Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 9:30 p.m. at the OSU Wexner Medical Center. He was born on September 22, 1938 in Fayette County to the late Howard and Emma Marcum Varney. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Cold War. He had worked as an electrician. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, karoke and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Charles is survived by his wife, Andrea Dugan Varney, whom he married on August 24, 1963; his children Charles Jr. (Becky) Varney, Cheryl (Scott Byers) Varney, Christle (Gary) Imwalle, William (Carla) Varney, Jeff (Melissa Monoskie) Varney and Tom Sexton; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; former daughter-in-law Tammy Clemans; 4 brothers and 3 sisters as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He is also survived by his beloved canine family members, Penny and Missy. The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sugar Creek Baptist Cemetery.
