CHARLOTTE ANN SHOEMAKER GROOMS, age 75, of Washington CH, went to her eternal home on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 4:40 p.m. at the St. Catherine's Manor. She was born on April 19, 1940 in Bainbridge, Ohio to Grant and Vivian Elliott Couch. She had worked as an STNA at Orient State for many years and retired from the Greene Oaks Nursing Home of Xenia. She was a member of the Good Hope Community Church and also had attended the Washington Avenue House of Prayer. She enjoyed reading her Bible and spending time with her family. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, William "Bill" Shoemaker, her second husband, Charles Grooms, her beloved son, Wes Shoemaker and her brothers, Clyde and Larry Couch. Survivors include her husband, Chester Grooms, whom she married on May 2, 2015; her daughter, Rose Anne Shoemaker; daughter-in-law Rosemary Shoemaker; step-daughter Tracy Bradley; grandchildren William Shoemaker, Gerald Jackson, Aaron Morrison and Andrea Morrison; brother Virgil (Cheryl) Couch and their daughter Sarah; sister-in-law Carolyn Couch as well as her beloved grand dog, Bailey. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Butcher officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery.
