CHERYL MATTHEWS, age 76, of Sabina, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 2:26 p.m. at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.

She was born in Fayette County to Thurman, Sr. and Daisy V. (Rupert) Warnock. She was a 1963 graduate of Miami Trace High School. Cheryl worked as a secretary in the banking business for several years. She was a faithful member at the Sabina Church of Christ. Cheryl was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed singing, performing and listening to Gospel music.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Nancy Warnock, Beverly O'Loughlin and Thurman Warnock, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Matthews, whom she married on April 15, 1972 in Jeffersonville, Ohio; her sons, Seth Matthews of Franklin, Tennessee and Titus Matthews of Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren, Gunnar, Elle, Gavin, and Blaze; and sisters, Phyliss Spears and Margaret Warnock, both of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.

The graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Centerville Cemetery on Cox Rd. in Lees Creek, Ohio in Clinton County with Pastor Troy Villars officiating.
