"Chris" Richardson, Jr.
November 13, 1968 – November 29, 2022
CHRISTOPHER MARCUS "CHRIS" RICHARDSON, JR., age 54, of Washington CH, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Adena Fayette Medical Center. His death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born on November 13, 1968 in Plattsburgh, New York to the late Christopher Marcus Richardson, Sr. and Teresa Marie (Siboni) Richardson. He was a 1987 graduate of Mifflin High School in Columbus, Ohio. After high school, Chris proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps from 1987-1993. He retired in 2012 from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) where he held the position of Captain. Chris was currently employed by the City of Washington as a Code Enforcement Officer. He was a faithful member at The Gathering Place Church. Chris was described by a member of his church family as, "the epitome of a servant and protector." He enjoyed cooking, loving his animals, and spending as much time as he could with his wife and daughter, the loves of his life. He also enjoyed grilling out and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Georgia Richardson, Grandma Dorothy Tillett, Granny Marjorie Hodge, and Grandfather Carl Grooms; and his beloved dogs, Gunne and Remoh.
Survivors include his wife, Kristi D. (Grooms) Richardson; daughter, Jazzmyne L. Richardson; in-laws, Paul and Sherry Tillett and Russell Grooms; grandparents, Paul Tillett, Sr. and Rindabelle Grooms; sister-in-law, Andria (Karl) Manor of Washington CH; brothers-in-law, Bryant (Abbey) Staats of North Carolina, and Brandon Grooms of Washington CH; nieces and nephews, Dustin, Landen, Carter, Caydence, Brianna, Jackson, Gabe, Cohen, Harper, and Barrett; and his animals, Moses, Grunt, Maize, and Semper. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at The Gathering Place Church, 240 Courthouse Pkwy, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor John Pfeifer officiating with burial to follow at the Good Hope Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
