CLAUDE CECIL HODGE, age 89, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 9:56 p.m. at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.

He was born on February 7, 1933 in Franklin County to Claude and Evelyn (Houck) Hodge. Claude proudly served his country in the US Army. He had worked in maintenance for an apartment complex in Columbus for many years. Claude was a faithful member at the Unity Fellowship Church. He enjoyed watching sports, making people laugh with his silly jokes, and spending time with his precious grandchildren.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Jeff Compton; and great-nephew, Virgil G. Martin, IV.

Survivors include his wife, Susan A. (Hilpert) Hodge, whom he married on February 6, 1971; son, Seth Edward (Evelyn Forsha) Hodge; grandchildren, Kara, Dante, Makayla, and Alexis Hodge; nephews, Virgil G. Martin, III, John Paul Compton, and John Gregory Hilpert; niece, Jenny Compton; great-nephews, Diesel Martin, and Remington Martin; great-niece, Angel Martin; brother-in-law, David Forsha; and sisters-in-law, Ilo Ford, and Becky Compton. Also surviving are several cousins and a host of special friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Unity Fellowship Church, 4405 Prairie Rd. NE, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor Keith Clary officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Monday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
