CLINTON J. LONG, age 85, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 8:10 a.m. at Fayette County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on April 15, 1929 in Dennison, Ohio to Clinton L. and Laura Cox Long. He had worked in the trucking industry for more than 40 years. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church. He was also a past member of the Eagles and enjoyed reading westerns and riding motorcycles.
Clinton was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wilma Jean Williams Long, to whom he had been married to for 54 years, his son Robert W. Long, one grandson at infancy, his parents, brother Thomas Long, two half-brothers and 4 half-sisters.
Survivors include his children Richard L. Long, Ronald E. Long, Roger K. Long and Robin (Dale) Walker; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson as well as many other family and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crossroads Christian Church, 175 Halliday Way, with Todd Maurer officiating.
Friends may call at the Summers Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. and again at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The graveside service will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Logan, Ohio.
