Obituary

On Thursday August 4, 2016, the world lost a "spiritual giant". Constance Jean Harper, age 72, finally received her victor's crown from her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ as she "…fought the good fight, she has finished the course, she has kept the faith." (II Timothy 4:7) A "fiery red-head" entered this world on December 1, 1943 to a loving pastoral couple, the late Owen and Lillian Jennings Harper of Washington Court House, Ohio. As she grew, her heavenly Father molded and shaped her into His "unique vessel" to be used for His ministry. Without a high school diploma, she entered in the University of the Lord and earned a doctorate in "Discernment of the Holy Spirit". The Lord called Connie in evangelistic work which allowed her to travel and preach revivals and camp meetings in Ohio, Kentucky, and other states. After her evangelistic work was done, she was called to be a "spiritual adviser, mentor and counselor to countless pastors and lay people alike. Connie became the "go to" prayer warrior for many sinners and Christians. In 2010, she was recognized for her "50 years of Faithful Ministry", an honor that barely touches the influence she has had in people's lives. The legacy of her "Christian Walk" showed how one can be blessed beyond measure for faithfully serving the Lord. Connie was a godly woman, loving and concerning sister, aunt, cousin and friend. The love she has for her family was bigger than her stature. This love was given back as her parents and the Lord welcomed Connie to her heavenly home where she is running the "streets of gold" as she waits for her brothers: Owen Harper, Jr. and Duane (Tina) Harper; sisters: Barbara (Don) McBeth and Joy (Vernon) Stanforth; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. This loving family is extending an open invitation to honor Rev. Constance Jean Harper's influence in this world. All are welcome to come on Monday August 8, 2016 at the Heritage Memorial Church starting at 2pm to 8pm to share your memories of Connie with the family. Come back to Heritage Memorial Church on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at 11am to be blessed by the preaching of God's Word as we pay an honorable tribute to God's "smallest spiritual giant". Burial will follow at the Washington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Summers Funeral Home.
