CYNTHIA KAY PETITT, age 68, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 10:27 a.m. at Signature HealthCare of Fayette County while surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 5, 1953 in Fayette County to David Wayne and Margaret Katherine (Carle) Johnson. She was a 1971 graduate of Washington High School. Cynthia had worked as a cashier at several grocery stores in the community. She enjoyed knitting, vacationing in Myrtle Beach, and she loved being a Grandma!

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David Johnson, Jr., and Jerry Johnson; and sister-in-law, Rae Johnson.

Survivors include her children, Chris (Joanne) Petitt, and Melinda Petitt; grandchildren, Haley Petitt, Jacob Petitt, Heidi Truman, Kaylin Justice, Matthew Justice, Tyler Justice, and Jake Justice; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Layla, and Ella; and siblings, Mike (Dorothy) Johnson, Carole (Cecil) Dalton, and Tony Johnson. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
